Haiga
We have had so many vibrant and imaginative contributions in response to a request for photographs for this haiga relating to our theme this week of SUMMER that we will have 2 haiga this month on this theme.
Do respond to the wonderful photographs featured here. Write haiku inspired by what you see, thinking beyond the literal representations, by either choosing a stand-alone haiku or making a new image with a haiku written over it.
Post haiku and photo haiku in the comments below and on Twitter @TheGreatMargin

  1. A few favourites from this time

    thrum of wind
    through summer meadow grass
    aeolian breath

    in the attic
    my old violin
    just sleeping

    watching two swans
    remembering kiss chase
    mating for life

    I’m still waiting
    to throw a six
    to start…

    to be alive – know
    laughter for no reason
    lighten the darkness

    from the train
a field of sunflowers – full bloom
    passes too quickly

    the last glance
from the turn in the stair
    haunts my dreams

    folding light
    my pockets deepen
    something for winter

    early evening
    floating on a calm sea
    forgiveness holds me

    violet hands to thrift
    foxgloves give to thistles
    humans pass on by

    dismay light – we slow
there a barn owl skirts gorse starts
    another night shift

    take the nowhere path
through the last of the foxgloves
    down to the sea

    I did not forget
    nor forgive but found
    myself weeping

    half a moon
    going nowhere
    until morning

    first leaf falls
    summer slips to autumn
    – one more liver spot

    at noon
    the sea mist clears
    a gift

    1. Yes Marion I just scrolled back through, it’s been a good way for me to keep a copy of my haiku as they tend to be forgotten after I’ve written them each day.
