This month we had our first monthly challenge to produce humorous ku and you delighted us with your creations.  Favourites were selected by Comedy director Andrew Gillman @andrewgillman and posted as an Announcement.  The next month’s challenge is to post spooky haiku spooku with a nod to Halloween.

One Comment on “Conversation 113: THE DAILY HAIKU: Themes from 25 September to 22 October 2021”

  1. Awake We Sleep

    The stars rise at dusk
With their shy sister the moon
    Waiting for the night
    To serenade her softly
    Without referencing true love

    So now we take steps
Find a ladder to the stars
    Climb on every rung
    Not giving a single thought
    To those needing ramped access

    Our entangled lives
    Now full of complications
    Like cooked spaghetti
    Dolloped onto serving bowls
    Twisting and turning else where

    Yet we stand united
    In the eye of hurricanes
    Together not defeated
    Protesting against the sleep
    Of apathetic people

    You and me were true
    True to one another then
    It wasn’t our lies
    But your inability
    To be true about yourself
